Montreal, august 1st 2014 – The Collective Québécois Against Islamophobia invites all its members, sympathizers, members of the muslim community, as well as all Quebecers to participate in large numbers in the upcoming march for solidarity with Gaza; scheduled on the 10th of august at noon at Place Émilie-Gamelin (Métro Berri-UQAM).
While Israel commits war crimes and human rights violations by relentlessly bombing Gaza, killing thousands of civilians, mostly women and children, and causing ravages in its way (destroying schools, mosques, UN refuges, etc.), the Canadian political class (the conservative government, the PLC and NDP) continues to lend unconditional support to Israel and refuses to hear the voices of thousands of Quebecers and Canadians across the nation.
On the 10th of august join us, The Collective Québécois Against Islamophobia, as well as a large coalition of syndical and community groups, human rights activist groups, women’s rights groups, student associations, solidarity groups, artists and intellectuals and many more citizens to voice loud and clear our demands:
• AN IMMEDIATE END TO ALL FORMS OF ISRAELI AGGRESSION
• AN END TO THE BLOCKAGE OF GAZA
• AN END TO ISRAELI OCCUPATION AND COLONIZATION OF PALESTINIAN TERRITORIES
• A REAL SOLUTION TO THE CONFLICT, BASED ON JUSTICE AND RESPECT FOR INTERNATIONAL LAW
• A RADICAL CHANGE IN THE SHAMEFUL POLICIES OF THE GOVERNMENT AND CANADIAN POLITICIANS IN GENERAL
