Montréal, 1er  août 2014 – Le Collectif Québécois Contre l’Islamophobie invite tous ses membres, sympathisants(es), membres de la communauté musulmane ainsi que tous les Québécois (es) à participer en grand nombre à une grande manifestation de solidarité avec Gaza prévue le 10 août 2014 à midi à la Place Émilie-Gamelin (Métro Berri-UQAM) Alors qu’Israël est en train de commettre des crimes de guerre et des crimes contre l’humanité en bombardant sans relâche Gaza, tuant des milliers de civils en majorité des enfants et des femmes et détruisant tout ce qui se trouve sur son passage (écoles, mosquées, refuges de l’ONU…),  la classe politique canadienne (le gouvernement conservateur, le PLC et le NPD) continue d’accorder un appui inconditionnel à Israël et refuse d’écouter les appels lancés par les milliers de Québécois et de Canadiens à travers le pays. Montreal, august 1st 2014 – The Collective Québécois Against Islamophobia invites all its members, sympathizers, members of the muslim community, as well as all Quebecers to participate in large numbers in the upcoming march for solidarity with Gaza; scheduled on the 10th of august at noon at Place Émilie-Gamelin (Métro Berri-UQAM). While Israel commits war crimes and human rights violations by relentlessly bombing Gaza, killing thousands of civilians, mostly women and children, and causing ravages in its way (destroying schools, mosques, UN refuges, etc.), the Canadian political class (the conservative government, the PLC and NDP) continues to lend unconditional support to Israel and refuses to hear the voices of thousands of Quebecers and Canadians across the nation. On the 10th of august join us, The Collective Québécois Against Islamophobia, as well as a large coalition of syndical and community groups, human rights activist groups, women’s rights groups, student associations, solidarity groups, artists and intellectuals and many more citizens to voice loud and clear our demands:  • AN IMMEDIATE END TO ALL FORMS OF ISRAELI AGGRESSION • AN END TO THE BLOCKAGE OF GAZA • AN END TO ISRAELI OCCUPATION AND COLONIZATION OF PALESTINIAN TERRITORIES • A REAL SOLUTION TO THE CONFLICT, BASED ON JUSTICE AND RESPECT FOR INTERNATIONAL LAW • A RADICAL CHANGE IN THE SHAMEFUL POLICIES OF THE GOVERNMENT AND CANADIAN POLITICIANS IN GENERAL SOLIDARITY BETWEEN GAZA-QUEBEC! Le Collectif Québécois Contre l’Islamophobie (CQCI) demande à Madame Lise Thériault, ministre de la Sécurité publique, d’étudier toutes les avenues juridiques afin d’interdire l’établissement au Québec de La Ligue de défense juive, organisation qui a été qualifiée de « terroriste », « violente » et « extrémiste » par le FBI en 2001. Le Collectif Québécois Contre l’Islamophobie estime que l’établissement de La Ligue de défense juive à Montréal va contribuer à accentuer l’insécurité, la violence, le racisme et l’islamophobie au Québec. Cette organisation qui a eu recours au terrorisme aux États-Unis et en Palestine ainsi qu’à la violence en France est placée dans la liste américaine des entités terroristes depuis 2001 et interdite dans plusieurs pays à travers le monde, notamment aux États-Unis. PRESS RELEASE For immediate release MONTRÉAL, May 6th 2014 – The Collectif Québécois Contre l’Islamophobie (CQCI) calls for the resignation of the ex-minister responsable for the democratic institutions and citizen participation because of his contempt towards the democratic institutions and his central role in the degradation of the social climate in Québec¹. «Bernard Drainville instrumentalized islamophobia, the debate on identity and secularism for electoral purposes. This had for effect the division of our society, the stigmatization of religious minorities and the unusual* rise in hateful speech and actions against muslim Quebecers, particularly women who wear the hidjab» affirmed Adil Charkaoui, coordinator of the CQCI The CQCI reckons that the deputy of Marie-Victorin has, furthermore, misled the National Assembly and the citizens by pretending  to hold legal advisory concerning the entirety of projet 60 on the charter of values when official documents² from the ministry of Justice released earlier this week prove otherwise.
